Field and Support Engineer

The Position

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of highly experienced support engineers in this rewarding and important customer facing role. Reporting directly to the service desk manager, you will be responsible for providing proactive maintenance and support for key clients.

Daily duties will range from; resolving client logon issues; full server side diagnosis and troubleshooting to maintain our customers' IT infrastructure; PC and server assembly and on site troubleshooting as necessary. Candidates will need to be calm under pressure, have a positive, friendly, can-do attitude and a good sense of humour.

Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm (some overtime will be required)

Holiday entitlement: 28 Days per year inc Bank Holidays (Jan – Dec)

Essential Requirements

Full, clean Driving License.

Experience of Troubleshooting/maintaining Windows Clients 2000/XP Pro/Vista/7

Experience of Troubleshooting/maintaining Windows Server 2000/2003/2008

Experience of Troubleshooting/maintaining Exchange 2003/2007/2010

Experience of supporting end users in a network environment

Assembling and installing PCs and servers

Troubleshooting CAT 5e cabling and TCP/IP

Working in a customer-facing role

Ability to remain calm under pressure

Ability to work well as part of a team

Good interpersonal and communication skills

A+, Network+, MCSA or equivalent in Win 2000/2003/2008

Configuring and troubleshooting ADSL connections

Configuring and troubleshooting LAN and WAN Routers

Configuring and troubleshooting firewall appliances

TCP/IP sub netting and routing

Project management skills
